The winemaker
Maison L. Tramier et Fils is located in the heart of Burgundy, close to the Beaujolais region. Louis Tramier, an enterprising and dynamic man, founded his own wine house in 1842. He chose Mercurey, whose wines had long been renowned, as the birthplace of his business, acquiring a promising vineyard and one of Mercurey's finest cellars. His descendants were to expand the family estate, adding prestigious climats such as Musigny, Clos de Vougeot and other Burgundy greats over the generations.
In the early 60s, the company launched its trademark wine, Roncier. This cuvée, which combined the expertise of several generations to produce a top-quality wine, made its reputation and helped the company grow into one of Burgundy's top 50.
Harvesters and wine merchants since 1842, Maison Tramier combines tradition and progress. Tradition, thanks to a long-standing know-how handed down from father to son, which has given us a wealth of experience in maturing wines while respecting the techniques of the past. Progress through the latest advances in oenology and technology.
