The winemaker

Four generations have succeeded one another at the helm of Champagnes Henri David-Heucq, respecting the traditions of the Champagne region. Olivier and Maxime now produce champagnes close to the Marne Valley terroir, just as their parents Odile and Henri did. Champagne Henri David-Heucq is located in Fleur-la-Rivière, a charming hillside village some twenty minutes from Epernay. It's located in the heart of the Champagne region and built on the hard soil of the famous Lutetian limestone, where many fossilized shells are found. Champagne Henri David-Heucq has been practicing integrated farming for many years, with precise observation of the plots to preserve the harvest. The vines are 25 years old on average. Pinot meunier is the most common grape variety, followed by Chardonnay and Pinot noir. To ensure quality, they take great care in the vineyard. They rigorously select their grapes: pinot meunier for roundness and fruitiness, chardonnay for finesse and elegance, and pinot noir for the power it brings to their wines. By blending wines with different aromatic qualities, they create the unique style of David Heucq Champagnes.
