The winemaker

After the devastation of the First World War the economic crisis occurs. To face adversity, a handful of winemakers join forces. They founded the Mailly Champagne Growers Society and choose a motto that sums up their courage and their values, "the head by the hand" Driven by the same audacity and the same determination, they decided to produce wines of great expression from only grapes from their village classified Grand Cru. The field Mailly Grand Cru covers 70 hectares located exclusively on the village of Mailly Grand Cru Champagne, in the heart of the Natural Park of the Montagne de Reims. The two grape varieties of Champagne, Pinot and Chardonnay Black respectively hold 75% and 25% of the vineyards on 480 plots. The uniqueness of this exceptional terroir comes from its exposure to the four cardinal points. A majority of land is oriented to the north, finesse and balance pledge. 80 winemakers bring the greatest care to the culture of the vineyard. They are descendants of the founders and share the same passion: to prove the magnificence of the terroir of Champagne Mailly. So they practice, for many years, a respectful sustainable viticulture soil and the environment. Each plot is being closely monitored. The field of winegrowers have in common worship of the beautiful grapes.
