The winemaker

The history of the estate


The history of Clos Canereccia began in 1970 when Pierre and Christian, his son-in-law, began to vinify their few hectares of vines in Aléria. Over time, the estate expanded, plots of Merlot, Grenache and Syrah were planted.

Soon, the estate reached 35 hectares and the family tradition continued. Titi, Pierre's grandson, took over the reins of the vineyard 40 years later, in 2010. His determination and effort lead him to buy equipment, and modernize the estate in order to make his own wine and to make the first vinifications on the property.

The Terroir


As the estate evolved, plots of Merlot were replaced by vines of Niellucciu, Sciaccarellu or Carcaghjolu Neru. In addition, the Vermentinu also takes its rights in the vineyard of Clos Canereccia.

Since 2017, the 9 hectares of the estate have gone to Organic Agriculture. Concretely, the Clos Canereccia prohibits the use of synthetic chemicals, the use of GMOs, and promotes the recycling of organic matter as well as crop rotation.

Le Clos Canereccia, it is the intimate confidence that to produce the best wines, the most faithful to their soil, it is necessary to respect nature and its environment. In this way, the endemic grape varieties and the terroir can express themselves at their best. In the cellar, the vinification is done as naturally as possible. We observe for example a low dosage of sulfites, and wines made without fining or filtering.

The wines


The wines produced by the estate are expressive and characterful, in the image of Pierre and Christian, then Titi.

The Amphore Carcaghjolu Neru Rouge cuvée is composed of 100% Carcaghloju. Its color is a black cherry hue. On the nose, there is a harmony and complexity marked by notes of sweet spices, ripe red fruits, spring scrub and laurel. The mouth is powerful, with fruit and melted tannins.
