The winemaker

Since the early 60's, and the current rediscovery by Jean François Renucci in Costa Séréna of this superb terroir bordered by maquis, between sea, mountain and pond, Domaine de Terra Vecchia has embodied Corsican winegrowing at its finest. The estate's unique location close to the Diana marine pond, which protects the vines from sea spray and intense heat, and not far from the mountains, which provide delicious coolness at night, has since ancient times created a unique terroir ideal for growing vines. A land steeped in history "Terra Vecchia", literally "ancient land" in Corsican, bears witness to the establishment of vineyards on a very ancient area of viticultural and agricultural activity dating back over 2000 years. These lands, perfectly preserved and of exceptional beauty, are today the Terra Vecchia vineyards. A passion, an ambition Jean-François RENUCCI is a young winegrower and arboriculturist with a passion for bringing a new dimension to Corsica's wine industry. Taking advantage of an exceptional vineyard that was already well known, he passionately set about restoring the estate with the intention of making Clos Poggiale a renowned vineyard combining wine quality and wine tourism.
