Fruitière vinicole d'Arbois ... A land, men and their meeting... The vineyard : An ancestral yet confidential vineyard, the Jura vineyards stretch from Salins les Bains to St Amour over 2,000 gently undulating hectares, where three red grape varieties (Pinot, Trousseau and Poulsard) and two white grape varieties (Chardonnay and Savagnin) are grown. Once upon a time...In 1906, Jura winegrowers were just recovering from the phylloxera crisis of a few years earlier, and were suffering from poor wine sales. On January 4, 1906, with no premises, no equipment and no law governing this type of company, 31 of them, pioneers of the cooperative movement in France, created the first Fruitière Vinicole: La Fruitière Vinicole d'Arbois. Forerunners in the desire to unite and exploit common-fruit vines, they placed the quest for quality at the heart of their motivations. In particular, they pay their winegrowers according to the quality of the grapes they supply. More than a century has passed .... Today, the 90 members of the family farm 288 hectares, producing an average of 15,000 hectolitres. From the vine .... Our winegrowers have developed reasoned vineyard practices, which involve examining the advantages and disadvantages of each daily intervention and their effects on the quality of the grapes. .....A cellar Priority is given to quality. The equipment in the winery enables identification and monitoring of each cuvée, from the arrival of the harvest to the marketing of the wine. The pressing, vinification and bottling facilities are located on the Fruitière Vinicole d'Arbois estate. The Savagnin cellar in Arbois can hold more than 3,000 228-litre barrels, while the new winery in Poligny can hold more than 1,500. With a total capacity of 35,000 hectolitres, the Fruitière produces over a million bottles a year, regularly winning awards at the most prestigious competitions. We produce Appellation Arbois, Côtes du Jura, Macvin and Crémant du Jura wines, and our flagship product is "Cuvée Béthanie", named after the Château we acquired in 1969.
