The winemaker
The vineyard is planted on hillsides overlooking the right bank of the Tarn. The vines of AOC cover 42 hectares. The vineyards of Gaillac was one of the first to receive the AOC in 1936. The clay and clay-limestone soils of the first hills bring finesse and elegance when gravelly soils and "boulbènes" the lower slopes offer charms, fruit and power to the wines of Château Saur. The ocean-dominated climate benefits from Mediterranean influences bring alternating heat and damp sweetness tempered by the southerly wind.
