The winemaker

The Clos Sorian and its family history

He was then joined by his sons, Gabriel and Dimitri, in 2016. The new generation's willingness to help each other breathes strength and personality into the family business. Florent is a passionate winegrower. He has worked for over 20 years in the châteaux of the Médoc, helping to make numerous grands crus. Originally from the Languedoc, he wants to return to his roots and showcase the region's wines.

Dimitri and Gabriel each have a background in the corporate world, but their family passion drew them back to the wine business. Dimitri has been in charge of sales operations since 2017, passing on his philosophy of proximity. He works with several wine shops and restaurants in the region, in addition to having founded Le Petit Caveau, an authentic sales venue in the center of Montpellier.

The varied terroir of Clos Sorian allows for precise and intentional winemaking

The estate's 8 hectares are planted with Syrah, Grenache and Merlot on a wide variety of soils. The 30-40 year-old vines are cultivated with respect for the environment and biodiversity. Yields are low, and the estate has been organic since 2020. Clos Sorian's particularity is to offer wines that are ready to drink. They are matured in barrels for 12 months, then kept for at least 5 years after bottling. The bottles available for sale are therefore past vintages that have reached the optimal tasting age.

Le Clos Sorian offers a wide range of ready-to-taste wines

The wines are spread over 4 appellations: AOC Languedoc, AOC Grès de Montpellier, which is a young up-and-coming appellation full of potential, IGP Collines de la Moure and IGP Pays d'OC. The majority of our bottles have an ageing potential of around fifteen years. The cuvées are divided into three ranges with a strong Mediterranean identity: vins de copains, easy-drinking and accessible. The cuvées, aged in French oak barrels and kept in bottle until their optimal date. And finally, the great wines in signature cuvées: la Galeja, Mûr Mûr or Tèrra Amorosa, whose names reflect the winemakers' love for their terroir.
