The winemaker

At the heart of the Faugères appellation, the terraced vineyards, at altitudes of between 300 and 350 metres, open out onto an imposing panorama of garrigue forests, holm oaks and maquis. In the distance, you can see the coastline of the Gulf of Lion, and to the west, the Pyrenees and the majestic Mount Canigou. On schist slopes covering 17 hectares of AOP Faugères and some 20 hectares of AOP Languedoc, which also produce IGP Côtes de Thongue wines, 12 different grape varieties are grown. In the vineyards, as in the cellar, the watchwords are nature and simplicity. A family estate for over 220 years, the wines of Saint Martin d'Agel combine authenticity, gourmandise and great respect for an exceptional environmental heritage.
