The winemaker

It was during a visit to a friend in the Languedoc in 2002, we were struck by the majesty of old vines, the diversity of grape varieties, soil, climate and terrain. We felt that the full expression and the potential of some soils of this region had not been made, and in 2003 we started our operations with 1.5 hectares of vines in the Corbières Maritimes. We hoped that by encouraging deep root growth of vines, and improving soil biodiversity, we would appear in the wines expression of the terroir that would guide us in our approach. The following year, we agrandissions our operations by acquiring other small plots in the Corbières and the shale slopes of the valley of Agly. Following our efforts, almost lunar landscape where grew vines originally turned gradually into a richer environment with color and life. Each year saw the return of plants and insects; more soil structure seemed energized, suggesting that a biological enrichment is also produced in the earth. Now the vines begin to find a balance in this new and more diverse environment. Now in our 12th year of operation, we have 20 hectares of vines grown according to the principles of organic and biodynamic farming. We vines in three unique terroirs, each represented by a characteristic wine Mire Sea from the Corbières Maritimes Corbières Prioundo from the High and Far from the Agly Valley in Roussillon. Gradually, our wines have become more balanced, and if they have a less fruity character they developed greater complexity and a more pronounced expression of the terroir. We now have a body of knowledge acquired during our brief existence but busy. In the future, we intend to expand and tap into our expertise, while moving forward with the same thirst for exploration and as fresh as when we started.
