The winemaker

After gaining experience in Alsace and Burgundy, Bernard Fouquet founded his own winery in 1982 in the Loire focused on Chenin Blanc grape. He quickly created an experimental knowledge of the terroir and the mid-1990s, while Vouvray was a series of stellar vintages, the wines of Fouquet were among the most important in the world market for the price. By focusing on the purity and the use of stainless steel, Fouquet is to seize his land feature in each style: mainly calcareous clay in its dry wines and dessert, mainly flint / silica in its half dry and sparkling wines. Today, Fouquet labels are inexpensive, but are considered among the best of Vouvray at all costs.
