The winemaker
Château de la Calonnière, a centuries-old estate in the Anjou Noir region, uses organic farming and biodynamic practices, and is constantly seeking the finest expression of its terroirs in the Coteaux du Layon and Bonnezeaux. Twenty-three hectares of vines are cultivated in the heart of a forty-hectare park. These include the flagship grape varieties of the Loire region: Chenin, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grolleau, as well as Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, which draw their energy from a soil of schist and sandstone.
