The winemaker

The Saint Pourçain vineyards are located mainly in the Auvergne region. Three types of soil are represented: siliceous, clayey-limestone and gravelly-sandy. To match the region's climate and terroir, 5 grape varieties are authorized: Gamay, Pinot Noir, Tressallier, Chardonnay and Sauvignon as an accessory grape variety. The Union des vignerons de Saint Pourçain winery was founded in 1952 and covers 600 hectares of south-east-facing slopes cultivated by 62 winegrowers. The youthfulness and responsiveness of this cooperative winery enable it to evolve and innovate, adapting not only to consumers, but above all to its terroir.
