The winemaker

The history of the winery

The seigniorial château and its grounds have become an exceptional vineyard under the leadership of Romain Ott, heir to the know-how of four generations of winegrowers. This agricultural engineer, who specializes in oenology, has been instrumental in rebuilding Château Léoube's identity and revitalizing it.

Attached to the land and to respect for tradition, he works with passion, putting all his expertise and experience at the service of top-quality production. His quest for balance, consistency and a unique signature has made the reputation of Léoube wines.

An exceptional terroir

Château Léoube benefits from the proximity of the Mediterranean and its privileged climate, generous ochre clay soil and sea breezes. The sea breeze tempers the dry summer heat, and winters are mild on the shores of the Grande Bleue. The mistral helps maintain this balance.

Located in AOC Côtes de Provence, the estate is planted with several grape varieties. Cinsault, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Syrah, Sémillon and Rolle allow for blends in all three colors.

A transition to organic farming since the late 1990s

Respect for biodiversity and land

All work on the estate has been rethought to respect natural cycles, biodiversity and the balance of the environment, and no more pesticides or chemicals are used.

The conversion of the estate has led to an evolution in all practices, including the restoration of the vineyards, a review of the layout of the plots, the implementation of reasoned soil cultivation methods and the planting of vines according to the flow of water.

Strong commitments to sustainable viticulture

Château Léoube is committed to a responsible approach and to agricultural production carried out with respect for the land and people. In all its choices, the team affirms its commitment to preserving resources by, for example, maintaining uncultivated natural areas to support the richness of biodiversity, and installing beehives to encourage pollination.

Short circuits are favored to reduce carbon emissions, a waste reduction initiative has been launched and the producer favors the use of the most natural materials possible to promote their recycling.

Léoube is committed to sustainable production, with only 300,000 bottles produced each year. Its wines are rare, fine vintages, among the finest in Provence.

Organic wines

Léoube rosés
Léoube rosé wines are made using "haute-couture" winemaking methods: extreme care is taken to preserve the quality of the grapes, extractions are as delicate as possible and dosed as precisely as possible, and alcoholic fermentations are carefully and precisely monitored. The aim is to achieve the best possible balance.

Cuvée Rosé de Léoube is a fruity, round rosé from Provence, with notes of white-fleshed fruit. It's an ideal accompaniment to a meal in any season.

Secret de Léoube is an elegant, rich cuvée, with citrus aromas and floral notes.

Léoube La Londe is a real success, expressing all Romain Ott's expertise with complex, precise and pure aromas.

Léoube Provence white wines
Château Léoube offers fine, well-balanced white wines with good structure and fruity, floral aromas. The cuvées are produced from blends of Semillon and Rolle.

Provence reds from Château Léoube
Made from the main grape varieties of southern France - Cinsault, Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre - Léoube's red wines are certified organic Côtes de Provence and vintage Grand Vin de France. The range comprises four propositions.

Love By Léoube is a wine of character with notes of red berries. Rouge de Léoube is a supple, round, fruity wine, and Forts de Léoube is a Côtes de Provence that has a place on the finest tables.

Léoube Collector, finally, is a surprisingly great wine with intense spicy and fruity aromas, made from a unique blend and produced in a limited edition.
