The winemaker

Domaine de la Bégude consists of 22 hectares of vines scattered over 500 hectares of garrigue, allowing the soil to offer all its qualities to the wine. From this height, the view stretches out towards the bay of La Ciotat and the open sea. The terroir is continually tempered by the sea air. This vineyard produces red, rosé and white wines belonging to the Bandol AOC, one of the oldest appellations in France. Son, grandson and great-grandson of winegrowers, Guillaume Tari has driven a policy at La Bégude that is both innovative and faithful to tradition. Living on site with his family, falling in love with this exceptional site and showing great respect for nature, he knows by atavism that quality is a sum of details, each of which demands rigor. He avoids any brutal intervention in the vineyard, and no weedkillers, pesticides or chemical fertilizers are used. He favors seasonal methods of cultivation, notably ploughing and manual harvesting. All our wines are organically grown.
