The History of Domaine de la Croix

The Domaine de la Croix was founded in 1882 by Monsieur de Vrégille. He is the one who is at the origin of the village of La Croix Valmer. The vines quickly produced wines of the highest quality, which earned them the Cru Classé mention in Côtes de Provence.

The twentieth century is not very favorable to the Domaine de la Croix, because it is left to abandon. It was not until 2001 and its purchase by the Bolloré group that it benefited from a rehabilitation requiring colossal investments. Today, the Domaine de la Croix has regained its full potential and its ability to produce delicious wines.

The terroir of Domaine de la Croix

The terroir of Domaine de la Croix is drowned in sunshine and benefits from the maritime influences that bring that favorable sea air to the vines. The soils are quite heterogeneous, but nevertheless benefit from a dominant sandy-schistose, thanks to which the roots can penetrate deep into the soil. Thus, the vines can fetch water and do not suffer from periods of drought. This particularity favors the elaboration of complex and fine wines.

The Domaine de la Croix has invested in an avant-garde cellar of 3 500 m². This modern facility sublimates the performance of wine making, with latest generation equipment, allowing absolute precision to conduct the vinifications. The winery is buried under 8 meters of earth, so as not to degrade the aesthetics of the site.

Domaine de la Croix Irresistible Cuvee - White

Domaine de la Croix Irrésistible Cuvée Blanc is a wine of great freshness. It is made from the vines of the maritime border, La Croix Valmer and the Presqu'île de Saint Tropez, a set of sandy-schistose slopes. The wine has a sumptuous lemon yellow color. The nose is a mix of white flesh fruits aromas, with a touch of minerality. The palate offers lemony and slightly saline notes, with a long elegant finish. Domaine de la Croix Blanc's Cuvée Irrésistible is best served between 8 and 10°C to accompany a fish dish, such as swordfish with lime zest, for example.

Domaine de la Croix Cuvée Éloge - Rosé

Cuvée Éloge du Domaine de la Croix rosé is a gourmet wine from the sandy-schistose hillsides of the maritime border, La Croix Valmer and the Presqu'île de Saint Tropez. Its color is a very pale pink. Its nose is expressive and proposes bouquets of vine peaches and red fruits. The mouth is generous and round. It is recommended to serve it chilled, at a maximum of 8°C, but never iced. It is a marvelous accompaniment to a salt-crusted sea bream and roasted fennel.
