This Cairanne comes from a parcel-by-parcel selection of the appellation's finest terroirs, blending the region's three flagship grape varieties: Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre. The wine is aged for 10 to 12 months in concrete tanks to preserve all its fruitiness.

The up-and-coming Southern Rhône appellation, here we find what distinguishes it from its neighbors: a little more roundness with notes of red fruit, yet with a fine tannic structure.

Recently elevated to Cru status, the Cairanne appellation produces lovely, gourmet wines with character. This Cairanne is a fine expression of this at an affordable price.

As is the case with most Cairanne wines, a full bodied spicy wine. Still young though and can only improve with a couple of years in the cellar.

The appellation Cairanne is part of the region of Vallée du Rhône from France which include Le Sang des Seigneurs and its 7 cuvées. Spread over The Rhone Valley and its rich, complex terroirs. The region is divided into two distinct subregions: Northern Rhone (known as Rhône Septentrional) and Southern Rhone (Rhône Méridional). In the former we find strong wines in beautiful colours with warm, spicy notes, produced by vineyards that stretch 4,700 ha along the Rhone. The latter, with an area of 71,000 ha, is much more important, and this is evident of course in its annual production of red, rosé and white wines quite unlike those of the Northern Rhone., this region is 3 million hectolitres per year of red wines, rosés, dry and sparkling white wines, and natural sweet wine..
