The winemaker

The history of the brand "Cellier des Dauphins"

Cellier des Dauphins owes its name to the geographical location of the first cellars of the Union des Vignerons des Côtes du Rhône, situated in Drôme provençale in the southernmost part of the "Dauphiné". The brand initially brought together a union of cooperatives to which several wineries belonged, vinifying the production of 2,600 winegrowers.

With its current 11 cooperatives, the brand controls some 20,000 hectares of vineyards and sells 30% of the Côtes-du-Rhône AOC, for a total production of 360,000 hL. Its merger with the Union des Vignerons de l'Enclave des Papes has created a "wine giant".

Label Biologique

Since 2009, Cellier des Dauphins has been the first brand to offer an AOC made from organically grown vines. In 2010, over 500,000 bottles of this famous organic Côtes-du-Rhône were sold. To develop this industry, the brand submitted a plan to the Agence Biologique, which validated it the same year.

Henceforth, this enabled it to benefit from the collective support of the same agency. Subsequently, the production of around a thousand hectares was purchased as organic grapes in 2018. In the same year, Cellier du Dauphin launched an organic cuvée with no added sulfur.

The brand and its commitments

With the values of cooperation and pride in their terroirs, the founding winemakers have instilled a bold solidarity in the brand. Faithful and proud of their approach, they pursue this commitment to quality in the vineyard on a daily basis. Through the production of quality wines, Cellier des Dauphins aims to convey the "southern conviviality" of the Rhône Valley.

The variety of the latter's plots offers oenologists a wide range of grapes to choose from to craft flagship cuvées. The brand does everything necessary to remain supported by a group of producers and to remain committed to a sustainable, but also close relationship with its winemakers. All these things make it an invaluable brand.

In 2020, Cellier des Dauphins received a double award from "International Wine Challenge". Indeed, the "Vinsobres 2018" achieved the lovely score of 92/100 and the "Cairanne 2018" the excellent score of 95/100 which received the gold medal! If you were still hesitating to taste its fruity aromas, you'll have no reason to with praise like this.
