The winemaker

"The Château d'Aigueville vineyard occupies a privileged position in the heart of the Rhône Valley. Between hillsides, pine forests, olive groves and garrigues, the Château d'Aigueville vineyard occupies a privileged position in the heart of the Rhône Valley. With its 37 hectares of Massif d'Uchaux, it is the appellation's leading producer. The 82 hectares of vines in three communes (Orange, Sérignan and Uchaux), certified organic, are planted on clay-limestone soils covered with pebbles, similar to the terroirs of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The wines are blends. Grenache, Syrah, Carignan, Mourvèdre and Cinsault are used for the reds, and Clairette, Viognier, Grenache Blanc, Roussanne and Bourboulenc for the whites. The vineyards are bursting with biodiversity and the soils are alive with life, all energized by a historic underground spring. Etymologically, Aigueville, the town of water, echoes this spring from the Sorgue, which has enabled the Aigueville vineyards to flourish for two thousand years.
