Château de la Gardine Blanc benefits from the high minerality of the Urgonian white limestone to the west of the estate. It's a wine that gives pride of place to fruit in its first 3 years, with its three Provençal grape varieties, while the fatness of the roussanne dominates its later years, allowing for bolder food/wine pairings. This 2014 is splendid. Pale yellow fringed with green, it offers lively floral notes with accents of anise and fennel. The palate is round and aromatic, with a dazzlingly fresh finish. The discreet ageing allows the fruit to express itself fully.

The appellation Châteauneuf-du-Pape is part of the region of Vallée du Rhône from France which include Château de la Gardine - Domaine Brunel Père & Fils and its 3 cuvées. Spread over The Rhone Valley and its rich, complex terroirs. The region is divided into two distinct subregions: Northern Rhone (known as Rhône Septentrional) and Southern Rhone (Rhône Méridional). In the former we find strong wines in beautiful colours with warm, spicy notes, produced by vineyards that stretch 4,700 ha along the Rhone. The latter, with an area of 71,000 ha, is much more important, and this is evident of course in its annual production of red, rosé and white wines quite unlike those of the Northern Rhone., this region is 3 million hectolitres per year of red wines, rosés, dry and sparkling white wines, and natural sweet wine..
