In a few words ...
Powerful and silky! Domaine Barville is owned by Laurent Brotte's family. A 15-hectare vineyard to the west of the village, it comprises seven parcels of land on two of the oldest and best terroirs in the AOC. At an altitude of 100 meters, the vines, on average 35 years old, overlook the Rhône and benefit from the mistral wind, as well as the good exposure essential to berry ripeness. The grapes are harvested by hand and quickly transported in small containers to avoid compacting and oxidation. The grapes are then completely destemmed, crushed and fermented at 28°C, followed by a 3-week maceration. The tannic Syrah, Mourvèdre and Grenache wines are aged for 12 months in French oak barrels (1/3 new, 1/3 one-wine, 1/3 two-wine), while the softer, fruitier Grenache wines are aged for 12 months in traditional vats and barrels.
A base of Grenache Noir and a complement of Syrah and Mourvèdre for this cuvée aged in barrel, foudre and vat. Open, the nose smells of ripe fruit (prune, cherry) and spices, with a hint of minerality. Concentrated and ample on the attack, the palate is supported by a fine tannic structure, solid but not austere, before a long, fruity finish. Harmonious and full-bodied, this wine will stand the test of time.

The appellation Châteauneuf-du-Pape is part of the region of Vallée du Rhône from France which include Maison Brotte • Les Domaines and its 10 cuvées. Spread over The Rhone Valley and its rich, complex terroirs. The region is divided into two distinct subregions: Northern Rhone (known as Rhône Septentrional) and Southern Rhone (Rhône Méridional). In the former we find strong wines in beautiful colours with warm, spicy notes, produced by vineyards that stretch 4,700 ha along the Rhone. The latter, with an area of 71,000 ha, is much more important, and this is evident of course in its annual production of red, rosé and white wines quite unlike those of the Northern Rhone., this region is 3 million hectolitres per year of red wines, rosés, dry and sparkling white wines, and natural sweet wine..
