In the nineteenth century the French vineyards ravaged by phylloxera was rescued by American rootstocks. The area was one of the first to replant. That's why it was renamed Clos Americans. Halfway between Nimes and Montpellier, between sea and mountains, the area and its 20 hectares of vineyards overlooking the Camargue. The vineyard offers ideal climatic conditions: an exceptional terroir, a floor of pebbles, the Mistral wind, plenty of sunshine and finally morning humidity generated by the Camargue ponds allow the production of wines of character. Bruno François and Pierre Villebrun, both wine lovers resumed in collaboration vineyard in 2008. They practice sustainable farming and personally involved in farming and winemaking of their wines. Isabelle Landry has joined the team for the administrative and commercial part. The estate, located in the Rhone Valley, ranked AOC Costières de Nîmes. It covers 20 hectares of grape varieties: Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, Carignan, Mourvèdre, Vermentino, Roussanne, Marssane, Viognier and Tempranillo.
