A wine of uninterrupted renown since the 10th century, it has been present on royal tables in France and abroad. The Cornas vineyards are located on hillsides on the right bank of the Rhône, in a south-facing amphitheatre. Hand-picked grapes. Aged for 5 years in vats and oak barrels.

Dark ruby color with mahogany highlights.

Sophisticated, discreetly woody nose blending stewed, floral, roasted and animal notes.

Taste

The appellation Cornas is part of the region of Vallée du Rhône from France which include Benoît Roseau - Clos du pigeonnier and its 5 cuvées. Spread over The Rhone Valley and its rich, complex terroirs. The region is divided into two distinct subregions: Northern Rhone (known as Rhône Septentrional) and Southern Rhone (Rhône Méridional). In the former we find strong wines in beautiful colours with warm, spicy notes, produced by vineyards that stretch 4,700 ha along the Rhone. The latter, with an area of 71,000 ha, is much more important, and this is evident of course in its annual production of red, rosé and white wines quite unlike those of the Northern Rhone., this region is 3 million hectolitres per year of red wines, rosés, dry and sparkling white wines, and natural sweet wine..
