The winemaker

This vineyard, which has been passed down in the Ampuis family for several generations, has enabled us to develop a real expertise in the cultivation of old vines, dedicated to the creation of red wines in the Côte-Rotie appellation. Made from Syrah and sometimes a little Viognier, Côte-Rotie is aged in oak barrels for 1 to 2 years. After bottle ageing for at least 3 years, it reaches its full potential. Domaine Bonnefond wines are excellent for laying down, however, and will be able to express all their finesse for over 10 or 15 years. Don't hesitate to order them: they're a safe bet for laying down, and the estate's price is just right: it's sometimes said that their Côte-Rôtie is the cheapest, and we can only applaud their efforts to keep prices affordable despite the recognized quality of their wines.
