The winemaker

Domaine de Mas Caron is located on the route de Carpentras in Caromb, on the banks of the Rhône and Provence. Surrounded by eleven hectares of vines, this 18th-century farmhouse has retained its authenticity and natural beauty, embellished by the famous Mont Ventoux, a UNESCO biosphere reserve. Geographically, this terroir offers both the sunshine of Provence and the freshness of the mountains, known to bring aroma and finesse to the wines. Under the direction of Marc Boulon, the domaine produces 2 red cuvées and one rosé. Cuvée H724 is a powerful, aromatic IGP Vaucluse red wine made from a little-known grape variety: Caladoc. This original grape variety, similar to Syrah, is full of benefits and marries superbly with grilled meats. Cuvée Garance is the second, finer red wine, blended from Grenache, Carignan and Syrah, giving it a purplish color. The rosé wine is called Pilavoine: its essentially Grenache-based composition produces a pale rosé with citrus and floral aromas, and a long finish. These wines are regularly cited, for example, by the Guide Hachette and the Revue du Vin de France. The work of Marc Boulon, who has been converting to organic farming for several years, is particularly noteworthy, in keeping with his personality, which is always on the lookout for innovation, from vine-growing to winemaking. For travelers, the Mas offers charming gites all year round.
