The winemaker

Founded in 1928, our estate was mainly developed by our father Edmond Duclaux. Today, we hand-farm 5.8 hectares of vines on the steep slopes of Tupin and Semons. Our ambition is to produce elegant Côte-Rôtie wines typical of the southern Côte-Rôtie appellation (from Gneiss parent rock). The first walls of Côte-Rôtie were built in Roman times. Today, we continue to restore these stone walls and cultivate vines on these narrow terraces. In this way, history is perpetuated. We are owner-growers, and proud of it. We know that good wine starts in the vineyard. This is all the more true in Côte-Rôtie, where the steep slopes demand constant, daily effort.
