This family estate in Courthézon, Provence, has been run by the Sinard family for five generations. Founded by François Sinard in the early 20th century between Orange and Avignon, the estate produces quality wines in the heart of the Rhône Valley in the Châteauneuf du Pape, Vacqueyras, Côtes du Rhône and Côtes du Rhône village appellations. Robert-Henri Sinard managed the estate from 1976 until very recently. His son Laurent studied viticulture and worked with his father, before taking over management of the estate with his brother Nicolas. Find out more

The winemaker

The domain


At Domaine Saint Laurent, natural practices and traditional know-how have been favored in vineyard work for 40 years. This respectful approach to the environment and the terroir is in the process of being certified for the HVE, Haute Valeur Environnementale label.

Copses and hedges have been maintained to preserve biodiversity on the estate. These practices preserve these exceptional Rhone Valley terroirs and the beauty of the landscape.

The rows are weeded mechanically and the fertilizers used are exclusively organic. The use of compost preserves the soil's microbiological balance, without any risk of phytotoxicity. Working the soil also aims to improve the vines' water supply. The grapes are harvested by hand, using only the best quality berries. The wines are matured in oak barrels and vats.

The wines


Domaine Saint Laurent offers a wide range with Châteauneuf du Pape and Côtes du Rhône reds and whites, Vacqueyras, but also old vintages and a few oak-aged cuvées. The domaine's wines are elegant, expressive and aromatic.

Cuvée Passion des papes is a brilliant garnet-red Châteauneuf du Pape Rouge made from Grenache only. The nose offers aromas of strawberries, cocoa and a spicy note. The tannins are smooth and the finish is remarkably fresh. Perfect with spit-roasted meat or meat cooked in sauce.

Cuvée du Papé Plume is a white Côtes du Rhône with a luminous, pale gold color. It's made from a blend of Roussanne, Clairette and Bourboulenc. The nose has a lovely aromatic palette of beeswax, honey and acacia flowers. It's a rich, floral wine, both round and fine. Ideal with grilled fish cooked with Provencal herbs.

Le Vin de Pays de la Principauté d'Orange is a well-balanced red wine with an expressive nose, marked strawberry aromas and a palate offering a range of red fruits. It is made from Merlot, Carignan and Grenache Noir grapes. A perfect match for white meat or charcuterie.

Vin de Pays de Méditerranée made by Domaine Saint Laurent from Carignan and Grenache Noir is a rosé offering delicate citrus aromas and a long finish. A perfect wine for summer meals, it goes well with light starters or grilled meats.
