In a few words ...

In contrast to "jour de fruit", a round, fruity wine made from merlot and caberet franc, the grand cuvée "l'abbaye" is a more serious wine, with good density on the palate. Aging is present but not dominant, allowing the terroir to express itself. this 2014 is particularly successful: deep, racy nose, dominated by black fruits and smoky scents, silky mouthfeel with fine tannins. In line with previous vintages! 40% merlot, 30% cabernet-sauvignon, 30% malbec. Thin limestone plateau soil, with fairly deep roots (1m40). Early terroir with high potential for reds. Aged in oak barrels (20% new, 80% single-vineyard). Aged for 15 years.
