In a few words ...

Clos Triguedina is derived from the Occitan "Me trigo de dina", meaning "I can't wait to dine", in reference to the pilgrims to Santiago de Compostela who used to dine at the estate. Produced since 1830, this cuvée reflects seven generations of family know-how. Aged in oak barrels.

For me, Cahors wine didn't have a good reputation. Then a friend, Jean Pierre VAN ROY, brewer at the renowned Brasserie Cantillon in Brussels and a wine connoisseur in his own right, offered me a bottle of Clos Triguedina (actually 2!!) He knows Jean Luc BALDES personally and persuaded me to try this wine. What a nice surprise! A real discovery, even if the taste of a wine remains a personal matter. Since then, I've recommended this wine (the Petit Clos also stands up very well). My friend was right, I really wasn't disappointed. So, above all, congratulations to producer Jean Luc BALDES for his passion for wine and his professionalism, which you can feel in your glass when you taste it ;-)

A bottle that will benefit from a little more time, but which already has supple tannins and a smooth, complex aromatic palette. Already very good, to be tried again in a few years.

The 1979 vintage in Cahors is one of the appellation's finest. This 1979 Clos Triguedina offers beautiful aromas of spices and undergrowth, and a fine finish.
