The winemaker

For centuries, well before Roquefort, wine was originally from South-Aveyron prosperity. In the 1870s, he produced it every year about 500 000 hectoliters. Country of happiness to live where, on the slopes of the Causses, were piled out of sight of thousands of vine terraces. At the mouth of the Gorges du Tarn, Millau overlooking the village of Compeyre held a key position. After a slump in recent years, the Vignerons des Gorges du Tarn which produce Côtes de Millau have returned to a quality policy based on tradition and know-how of the ancestors. The centuries-old cellars are home again oak barrels. They created Vine House where they receive visitors for tastings, from which, they discovered the village of Compeyre peppered with wineries beginning with Alain Montrozier, which still serves to rest his best vintages.
