Chateau Clos Mignon is located on the historic land of Villaudric, who was in the twelfth century, the property of the Order of St. John of Jerusalem. The Villaudric land had been demarcated because of its poor soils, gravel and dry, which give a special intensity to the wines they produce. In the years son and the passionate work of winemakers Clos Mignon, the wines are regularly recognized and medalists of quality. The vineyard of Fronton is one of the oldest in France. It was the Romans who, in the fourth century, planted the first vines in the region. Located between the Garonne and the Tarn, north of Toulouse, the vineyard enjoys a pleasant, sunny weather on a beautiful ripeness. At the time, two soils were different, that of the Fronton and Villaudric. In 1975, the wines of the region spend AOC Côtes du Frontonnais. Since 2005, the whole vineyard is called "AOP Fronton." Installed on the typical terroir AOP Fronton vineyards of Château Clos Mignon benefit from a soil composed of boulbènes, alluvial sand very fine, and pebbles. This land gives its characteristic and brings his typical wines of Clos Mignon is renowned. The grape varieties include 50% négrette, an ancient grape variety typical of the Appellation AOP Fronton, 25% Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon and 25% Syrah. Yields were 50 hectoliters / hectare and planting density is 4500 vines / hectare. This provides the best conditions for quality wines and respect for the AOP Fronton.
