The winemaker

The special terroir of Domaine Mourguy

Domaine Mourguy extends over 10 hectares nestled in the Arradoy mountains, with terraced cultivation (slopes make up more than 50% of the land). An arduous terroir, but with ideal sunshine, which gives these South-Western wines their distinctive taste. The Tannat grape (along with Cabernet Franc or Sauvignon) leads to the Irouléguy appellation for these wines, characteristic of the Basque country.

Mourguy wines

Domaine Mourguy is renowned for its rosé (Gorria) made from a 3/3/3 blend of local grape varieties, making the wine refreshing and light, perfect for sunny aperitifs. The white (Xuria), vintage 2020, is dry, with pronounced aromas. The red (Beltza), vintage 2019, is fresh and very fruity on the nose. The Domaine also offers a racy 100% Tannat red.
