The Antinori name resonates throughout the wine world, but Marchese Lodovico Antinori is launched at a unique frequency. Legendary, maverick, genius, stubborn - apply all, but his imagination, vision and drive have created world-class wines unrivalled in the past. This Tenuta di Biserno, his ultimate project, is a testament to his unique talents. Tenuta di Biserno is a 90-hectare estate, located in the coastal region of western Tuscany, hidden among the Bibbona hills in the Upper Maremma, cooled by the sea breeze - perfect conditions. Lodovico Antinori undertook this exciting project to sell his famous Bolgheri Tenuta dell'Ornellaia real estate. The region, Bibbona, does indeed border DOC Bolgheri, but the terroir is different. Although both estates are better suited to Bordeaux grapes than the ubiquitous Sangiovese, Cabernet Franc does exceptionally well at Biserno, as do Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and good proportions of Petit Verdot, which really thrives in these conditions.
