In a few words ...

The very elegance of grand cru classé wines from the prestigious terroir of margaux. Situated just a few meters from the "route des châteaux", which serves numerous crus from the south of margaux to the north of saint-estèphe, château giscours is best recognized by the magnificent gateway which adorns the entrance to the vineyard. The first traces of vines date back to 1552, and several owners followed one another before the estate was seized as national property during the French revolution. Purchased at auction in 1795 by a group of three men, the property was sold thirty years later to Marc Promissé. This Bordeaux merchant built the château on the site of the old fortified keep and installed a drainage system to benefit the vineyards, before selling it all in 1847.The lucky purchaser of the newly constructed château was a Parisian banker in the person of jean-pierre pescatore. He and his descendants watched over the estate for almost thirty years, along with the Skawinski family, who also left their mark on the château?s history. Appointed steward of the estate in 1847, pierre skawinski worked there for half a century, working with several owners including the prestigious cruze family, Bordeaux merchants, before passing on his knowledge to his son théophile skawinski. The skawinski family thus left their mark on the history of the Médoc, not only in Margaux but also in Saint Julien, with the later purchase of a majority stake in Léoville Las Cases and the creation of the "Clos du Marquis". Their descendants, bearing the name "delon", are still at the head of this second-growth saint-julien classé, so the skawinski family can be considered as one of the builders of château giscours and léoville las cases.During the Second World War, the vineyard was reduced to 7 hectares and the château was totally destroyed. It was then acquired by a company which quickly sold the estate to the Tari family, who arrived in 1952. The latter finally brought

The tannins are much less lively today... they blend perfectly with the texture of this wine, they are silky and give it structure.
