In a few words ...

The vineyard for cuvée de chateau de chamirey covers 19.97 hectares planted with pinot noir. The nose offers aromas of black fruits, black cherries, spices and blackberries. On the palate, the tannins are silky and ripe, the wine supple and full-bodied. It's the perfect companion for white meats, soft cheeses and charcuterie. Mercurey covers an area of 645 hectares. The red grape variety is pinot noir. Mercurey is the most important wine-producing village on the Côte Chalonnaise. More robust on marl soils, finer on stony soils, the wines are generally solid and suitable for laying down. Red wines are both elegant and powerful, with tannins that are present but become rounder with age. Complex aromas are dominated by notes of red fruit, evolving towards animal notes. 1995 was a very fine summer. In September, however, growers thought it would be a repeat of 1994. Rain arrived on the 7th, but it was sparse and concentrated, so there was no dilution effect, especially as the vines were suffering from drought. Fine weather returned on September 17.
