Domaine henri gouges - nuit saint georges 2018the domaine henri gouges is located in the commune of nuits-saint-georges, in burgundy. The domaine was founded in 1919 by henri gouges and continues to be owned and operated by the gouges family. It was one of the first producers to reject the Burgundian wine-making system, which was then considered corrupt. Instead, from the 1920s onwards, Henri Gouges devoted himself to bottling his own wine, a rare practice in France. In the 1930s, when Burgundy appellations were first designated, he successfully campaigned against the designation of the nuits-saint-georges vineyards as grands crus, even though he was mayor of the village and a member of the inao. Today, domaine henri gouges' vineyards cover 14.5 hectares, including parcels spread over seven premier cru sites. Almost all the wines are made from pinot noir, but a limited quantity of white wines is also produced. A white pinot is produced under the appellation générique bourgogne blanc.le nuits-saint-georges village is produced with pinot noir from 7 parcels: les plateau, les crots, les belles croix, les fleurières, les brûlées and les chaliots. The majority of these parcels are located to the south of nuits-saint-georges, on a hillside with deep soils and a mixture of clay, alluvium and limestone pebbles. Only Les Crots is situated at the top of the hill on fine brown limestone soil. This wine needs a few years to reach its full potential before tasting.cépage : 100% pinot noir
