The name of this Cuvée recalls Xavier Forneret, rather than the donor, his mother Eléonore. Xavier Forneret (1809-1884) was born into a family of notables who had lived in Beaune since the 16th century, and is remembered for his literary works. Poet and writer, he was also a journalist, virtuoso violinist and composer.
