With ukiyo japanese blossom gin, indulge your senses with fresh juniper berries, fragrant sakura flowers and ripe mandarin peel. Look for base notes of parma violet, coriander and woody spices. In Japan, there's a fleeting period in spring when the sakura (cherry) trees are in full bloom. In a tradition known as "hanami", people go out to celebrate the blossoming of these flowers and the change of season. born in kagoshima, ukiyo blossom and yuzu gins are made from a rice harvest that will be distilled in a shōchū still. The shōchū is then redistilled with juniper, mandarin and spices. It's in the final stage that the delicacy of sakura flowers and yuzu lemon infuse. The result is a traditional Japanese gin masterfully distilled in the shadow of the sakurajima volcano.
