The winemaker

The story of Francis Ford Coppola's vineyard began in 1974, when he bought 600 hectares of land in Rutherford with the profits from his film "The Godfather". Francis Ford Coppola is now almost as famous for his wine as he is for his films. The filmmaker's history with wine began in childhood, when his grandfather and uncles made their own wine in their New York apartments. His passion and respect for the terroir make Francis Ford Coppola the winemaker who best represents the Californian terroir. The filmmaker-winemaker is driven by a single philosophy: "We aspire to the highest level of quality in everything we do. And nothing is more important than achieving this goal in the production of our wines".
