The wines of the Cotes de Castillon produce only red wines blended with Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. The 1997 vintage was an average one. The climate was tropical in late summer and early autumn, with high humidity and heat. The 1997 harvest was probably the longest in living memory. On the whole, the reds have a well-balanced structure and remarkable fruit, allowing them to age well.
