In a few words ...

Located close to the eglise saint-jean de pomerol and the famous château pétrus, domaine de l?eglise-clinet offers rich, refined and seductive wines. The estate also produces a second wine made exclusively from merlot grapes, called la petite eglise. The origins of Château l?eglise-clinet date back to 1882, when Mr. Mauléon-Rouchut decided to combine various plots of land to create a new estate called Clos l?eglise-clinet. The estate would comprise the vineyards of clos l?eglise, already owned by the family since the eighteenth century, and plots of land at château clinet, purchased from the constant family. After several heirs at the head of the five-hectare family estate, denis durantou, great-great-grandson of the founder, is now the current owner. Thanks to his talents as a manager and winemaker, the estate has enjoyed considerable growth over the years, becoming one of the most emblematic wines in the Pomerol appellation and even in Bordeaux. As demonstrated by the 100/100 rating awarded to the 2005 vintage by the renowned wine expert Robert Parker: "A sensational success for owner Denis Durantou, his 2005 vintage is a more than convincing wine. A veritable monument, it develops a deep purple color and beautiful aromas of caramelized blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, with woody and toasty notes in the background. Full-bodied, rich and exceptionally dense. Prodigiously concentrated, this tight, voluminous Pomerol is beautifully balanced with good acidity, tannins, alcohol and woody notes. It is massive and remarkably elegant, singular and exhilarating".
