In a few words ...

In 1973, Marlène Soria fell in love with a little hamlet of greenery tucked away in the middle of nowhere on the heights of Saint-Pargoire in the Languedoc region. She bought a country house there and, a few years later, decided to clear the scrubland around her property and plant vines. Born into a family of winegrowers, marlène soria created domaine peyre rose in 1990 with the initial idea of producing a little wine for herself and her family. For several years, she worked the land, planted new vines and experimented with different growing techniques. The first grapes were harvested in 1988. The estate experienced an incredible boom when Robert Parker came to the property to taste the wines. He loved the estate and introduced it to the world through his guidebook. Today, the estate comprises 25 hectares planted mainly with red grapes, with a further two hectares planted with white grapes. Domaine peyre rose is certified organic and produces four cuvées, a white called oro and three reds: syrah léone, clos des cistes and marlène n°3. marlène soria's wines are produced in small batches each year, and are very well balanced.
