The winemaker

Winegrowers from father to son since 1669, the Mochel family is based in the small winegrowing village of Traenheim, some twenty kilometers west of Strasbourg. We cultivate 10 hectares of vines, including 5 hectares in the magnificent Grand Cru Altenberg de Bergbieten. Situated at the center of a protective, south-facing landscape, our vines thrive in the sunshine of a rich, homogenous soil. As independent winegrowers, we work our land with respect, harvest our grapes, vinify our wines, bottle all our wines at the Domaine in Traenheim and sell them in our cellar. Our wines are gastronomic, expressing the full complexity of their terroir and the finesse of their grape varieties. Our aim is to produce wines that bring pleasure to those who discover them.
