The winemaker

Maison Tiffon is run by the Braastad family, who manage the estate in the traditional way: they cultivate their own vines, make their own wines and distill their own cognacs. Maison Tiffon owns 40ha of vineyards in the Grande Champagne and Fins Bois crus. Five generations after the founder of the Tiffon company, the descendants still produce cognac, respecting the secrets and traditions of the family. Today, the Braastad family is in charge of Tiffon Cognacs, taking care of vineyard production, harvesting, cognac distillation and aging of this liquid nectar in damp cellars near the Charente river. Maison Tiffon has some 13,000 barrels of cognac of different vintages and ages at its disposal. The cellar master, Richard Braastad, keeps track of each cognac and uses his memory and his olfactory and gustatory senses to remember the blending recipes.
