    In a few words ...

Situated on the edge of the Saint-Julien and Pauillac appellations, this 4th Cru Classé has belonged to Bernard Magrez since 2000. The 124 hectares of vines are planted on a sloping terroir of clay and limestone, covered with gravel. The grape varieties planted at La Tour Carnet are unusual for the Médoc, with a majority of Merlot (62%) versus 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the remainder Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The great oenologist Michel Rolland advises the estate. J. Suckling: 92-93/100

I bought this Médoc for Christmas, as a gift for a wine lover who's rather used to Saint-Émilion. Nothing to complain about, he really enjoyed it and will no doubt be back!

An atypical Haut-Médoc with a majority of Merlot instead of Cabernet Sauvignon, bringing plenty of fruit and roundness: a fine discovery and an interesting decision by Bernard Magrez to produce a Left Bank with a Right Bank style.

Correct but at this price there are better things to consume ASAP... it deserves to age a few more years...
