A prestigious label in the nineteenth century, monbousquet lost its reputation at the beginning of the twentieth century, during a period of successive owners. It wasn't until the end of the Second World War and the arrival of the querre family in 1945 that the estate gradually regained the image it had enjoyed just a few decades earlier. Daniel querre, master winemaker and oenologist, spent 30 years rebuilding the vineyard. His heirs continued his work until 1992. In 1993, Chantal and Gérard Perse took over this estate steeped in history. It was at this time that the quality of Monbousquet's production really took off. A happy opportunity for this great terroir with a long history, located just 500 metres from the south coast of Saint Emilion. in the months following gérard perse's arrival at monbousquet, the production process underwent a complete overhaul, both in the vineyards (completely restructured and drained) and in the cellars, with new state-of-the-art facilities and the creation of an ageing cellar, all necessary for the production of a great wine. The residence is also being renovated.
