The winemaker

His story


The Urios family has succeeded in combining vineyard development with entrepreneurship. They produce their own wines, welcome tourists and provide training in management strategies, while maintaining respect for the terroir and the art of living. It has also embarked on an environmental initiative to produce wines that are more respectful of biodiversity. As a result, Château Pépusque has just been awarded level 3 "High Environmental Value" certification.

The vineyard and its terroir


Château Pépusque benefits from the clay-limestone soil of the Minervois region. The terraced vineyards provide perfect irrigation and filtration for the aromatic development of the wines. A multitude of grape varieties coexist on the plots: Syrah, Grenache, Sauvignon, Cinsault, Viognier, Vermentino, Mourvèdre and Carignan. Each finds its place in the vineyard.

The wines


Château Pépusque comes in 13 different cuvées of white, red and rosé to suit all palates. Highlights include a fresh white: L'Instinct Appélation Minervois, Millésime 2021. In red AOP: Les Terres Fines, Vintage 2016 and 2018. AOC Minervois rosé is a fresh wine from the Pépieux terroir.
