"Villa Mon Rêve" is the name of our little vineyard house at the bottom of the "Combe" in La Livinière (Minervois). The people of the village have told us this beautiful story... ... The first owner of the vineyard built this house to offer his ailing wife a place to convalesce in a natural setting. The dream became reality when, to his delight, she recovered. As a token, they named their home "Villa Mon Rêve"... A little paradise where dreams become possible. This story is also our story, for this vineyard is idyllic, and after 10 years of learning the terroir of La Livinière, a small parcel of Syrah gave us the wine we dreamed of. What could be more natural than to call it "Villa Mon Rêve". Hand-harvested at optimum maturity. Natural fermentation. One third whole bunches, two thirds destemmed without crushing. Light pumping over and punching down during 4-week maceration. In 2000-liter oak casks for 20 months without racking - Bottled without fining or filtration - 6-month rest in bottle before marketing. This cuvée reflects the spirit of Domaine Gayda: - Our passion for Syrah and the quest for purity and expression. - The beauty and quality of the La Livinière terroir. - The moments shared in this magical place. In 2012, the alchemy between these elements, combined with work in the vineyard and cellar, concentrated the aromas and tastes that inspire us in the "Villa Mon Rêve".
