Why the name "Canyon de l'Eglise", you ask? Well, the estate's vines, which are over 20 years old, overlook the 300-metre-high Dieuvaille canyon. In the hollow of the canyon lies the little "church of the hole". With this incredible view, the name of this cuvée was an obvious choice!

After discovering the white from the same estate, I tried the red. Very good, all my friends liked it!

Verified purchase
The color is deep garnet, like a canyon.
The nose is distinctive, sometimes fruity, sometimes mineral, with herbs from the garrigue.
The attack is very fresh, then evolves to acidic red berries.
The finish is a little short and marked by tannins that are still green, but will mellow with time.
A wine to wait 1 or 2 years or decant a few hours before serving.
