In a few words ...
Ten hectares in one piece, a knoll of vines in the middle of nature. From its height, clau de nell looks out over the loire in the distance. From there, the infinite view describes the horizontal lines of sky, river and rows of grolleau, cabernet franc, cabernet-sauvignon and chenin. In 2008, christian jacques took over the reins of the domaine initiated by his wife anne-claude leflaive, a leading figure in the burgundy wine world. The vines have been cultivated biodynamically since 2000, and are very rare in France (almost all production goes abroad). Far from the spirit of the chapels, the domaine's wines are supple, elegant and full-bodied. Their balanced simplicity, in harmony with the wild, tranquil landscape, gives them such charm and presence. Their fruitiness, bursting with good humor, makes them a perfect match for convivial dishes. They are also sensitive to emotion. Clau de Nell's Cabernet Franc cuvée comes from a 5-hectare parcel of 40-year-old vines planted on a clay-limestone terroir of sandstone and red flint on tuffeau.
